Math prompting thoughts
Veer Hitesh Patel, 20 Jan. 2025
I think one of the beauties of studying math lies in the fact that the same 100 pages of a math textbook will result in thousands of different thoughts and interpretations by different people. Not only of the math itself, but seemingly unrelated, new thoughts. I believe this is similar to someone rewatching a film or rereading a book multiple times and on each iteration, they discover a new insight every time. I think math is probably better though because of its level of abstraction, increasing the range of possible thoughts it can prompt. The thoughts are not only of the math itself, but other different thoughts that thinking about this math sparks.

I remember once solving a problem and the solution was, in my mind, the literal embodiment of the phenomena that "what goes around comes around".

This thought on the beauty of studying math links to my blog post regarding the concept of "infinite possibility" - anything can prompt anything.
