Nexus: A Brief History of Information Networks from the Stone Age to AI
Veer Hitesh Patel, 20 Jan. 2025
I skimmed over this book. By skim I mean if the content I'm reading doesn't interest me I will just look over the words and get a general idea of what the author is talking about.

This book is good for people who want to understand the flow of information in societies which operate under different politics/economies/regimes. It also theorizes a lot on what AI could mean for the future.
———
Didn't like the book much because too much talking about history and theorizing too much on scenarios which seem fictional. More diagrams would be nice as they could condense paragraphs which are focused on explaining the flow of information by using diagrams, rather than filling the page with hypothetical theory nonsense. Classic case of diagram / few lines of math beating many words.

However, it does prompt interest in "recommender algorithms", which I am interested in and need to read more on. After all, recommender algorithms control the flow of information, and social media and the "big data revolution" is something which I definitely need to read upon more.
